Imams Convene National Prayers for Peace, Unity, and Guidance in Niger State
The Association of Nigerian Imams hosted a nationwide congregation for prayer aimed at fostering peace, unity, and divine guidance across Niger State and Nigeria at large.
The event’s Special Guest of Honor, Governor Muhammad Umar Bago, represented by Deputy Governor Comrade Yakubu Garba, commended the Ulamas for their divine insight in organizing the prayer session, held at the Central Mosque in Minna, Niger State’s capital.
He emphasized that the power of prayer is immense, encouraging the Christian community to adopt similar spiritual practices. He highlighted that unity, security, peace, and good governance are crucial to national cohesion.

Sheikh Iman Muhammad Nasir Adam, the Association’s National President, through his vice, Sheikh Mohammed Mustapha, praised the forum for initiating this prayer after a series of national calamities, praying for divine acceptance.
The National Secretary, Dr. Imam Umar Farooq Abdullahi, stated that the gathering aimed to seek Allah’s guidance and intervention for resolution of ongoing national crises.
He expressed conviction that insecurity, kidnapping, insurgency, and social vices would soon be eradicated through the collective prayers led by the Association.
Liman Adamu Yakatun, Chairman of the Niger State Imam Forum and Chief Imam of Bida, stated that the prayers sought divine intervention in Nigeria’s challenges.
The event was chaired by Niger State Assembly Speaker Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, with Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe Dr Yahaya Abubakar was represented by Wambai Nupe, Engineer Abdullahi Ndagi Aliyu at the prayers sesion.
Participants from several states, including Sokoto, Katsina, Jigawa, and Niger, joined in large numbers, especially Ulamas.
