SOME APC MEMBERS IN NIGER NORTH URGES HON.ABDULLAHI IDRIS GARBA TO RESPECT ROTATIONAL ARRANGEMENTS & STEP ASIDE.
Members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), from Mariga, Wushishi and Mashegun local government areas of Niger State has appealed to governor Muhammad Umaru Bago,APC stakeholders and elders in the Niger North Senatorial District of Zone ‘C’ to ask the Member of House of Representative,representing the zone at the National Assembly,Hon.Abdullahi Idris Garba
(Mai Solar), to step aside and allow the remaining (3) local governments of Mariga, Wushishi and Mashegun to present a fresh candidate for the 2027 general elections.
Usman Musa,a former member of the Niger State House of Assembly,who made the plea at the 5,000 grass root march/rally in Kampanin Bobi,over the weekend,hinted that since the inception of democratic dispensation in 1999 to 2003, Wushishi local government has produced member of House of Reps, while,from 2003 to 2007,Mariga Local Government,had produced member of House of Reps, adding that from 2007 to date,the rotation has remained stagnant for almost 19 to 20 years,thereby, denied other local governments chance, especially, Mashegun that has not been opportune to benefit from the rotation even once.
According to Usman”.We conducted the rally to remind our stakeholders that the sit of House of Representatives from zone ‘C’ should return back to other local governments,so ,if our demands is considered,we will decide which local government is to represent us, because, the Three local governments can not present a candidate at a time”.He argued.
Countering the comment of Usman Musa,an anonymous and one of the APCÂ stakeholder in the zone,who pleaded not be mention in print, revealed that 70% of the population that attended the Kampanin Bobi rally were Internally Displaced Person’s (DIP’S), mobilized across the (9) IDP camps in Mariga Local Government,the source also alleged that organizers of the rally did not do it in good faith, which lead to their failure to mobilize the (5,000) rally has planned”.He said.
The source and his group that are critical stakeholders of the APC further advised the people of the zone,especially,the electorates from Kontagora,Mariga, Wushishi and Mashegun to have faith in the leadership of Mai Solar, having made significant impacts in all spheres of human endeavor as a true representative.
The source added”.Hon.Abdullahi Idris Garba(Mai Solar),is a formidable politician with verse experience whose mission is to transform the entire zone to a greater heights, and over time Hon.Abdullahi Idris Garba Maisola,has empowered youth, women and elders in different capacity.
The Source and his group stressed that when organizing a political rally, the Internally Displaced Persons needed support,and not to mobilized them with little amount of money to achieve there self fish interest.
The source and his group however, observed that organizing a program under the All Progressive Congress APC, and the leadership of the party from the ward level to the State level are not officially and properly informed, Ward Chairmen across the 3 local government areas are not in attendance,the local government Executive members of the 3 local government areas are also not in attendance,the Niger state Party Chairman of the All Progressive Congress APC is not also in attendance or send a representative,the Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly who is from Mariga local Government is not also in attendance, the elected local government councils chairmen,are also not in attendance, the members Niger State House Of Assembly are also not in attendance and the so-call grassroot organizers that claim to be from Mariga, Mashegu, and Wushishi,70% of the population are drowned and mobilized across the 9 IDPs camps in Mariga local government .
The group maintained that Hon. Abdullahi Idris Maisola, still remains the grassroot choice from Kontagora, Mariga, Wushishi and Mashegu Local Government areas of Niger State, pointing out that they are fully in support of Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba Maisola come 2027 general elections,so as to enable him continue his humanitarian activities.
According to the source and his group,the grass root members,the All Progressive Congress,APC executive members from the ward level to the State level have since endorsed Farmer Governor of Niger State,and Hon. Abdullahi Idris Garba Maisola come 2027.
Earlier,the Chairman of the organizing committee of the rally,Usman Musa, while speaking to journalists shortly,stated that the rally was aimed to endorsed governor Muhammad Umaru Bago for the second time,
Usman noted that APC members didn’t endorsed Bago for self finish interest,but,for him to finish the developmental strides which he started,to enable him accomplished it all.
“Usman words”.We are no endorsing Bago for self fish interest, saying that the way he started boldorsing Niger State,we want him to go for second time so that all the projects can be completed and also add more before the end of his second tenure,so that Niger State would be developed and compete with Abuja”.He noted.
He highlighted that during the period under review, governor Muhammad Umaru Bago administration has initiated numerous projects in Zone ‘C’,which includes,road from Minna to almost -Zungeru,from Beri to almost -Kontagora,from Kontagora -to Rijau as well as (5) kilometers roads across all the local government areas in Zone ‘C’.
