Emir of Kagara HRH Ahmed Gunna Calls for Unity and Development in the Emirate.

His Royal Highness, the Emir of Kagara, Malam Ahmed Garba Gunna, Attahiru II, has urged all stakeholders and natives of Kagara Emirate in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State to come together and collaborate in building a more prosperous, secure, and progressive Emirate.

The Emir extended this appeal during a courtesy visit from members and leaders of the Rafi Development Foundation (RDF) at his Palace in Kagara on Sunday.

Mal. Ahmad Garba Gunna emphasized the importance of mutual understanding and respect among community members, urging forgiveness for past offenses, citing that “to err is human, and to forgive is divine.’ He noted that cohesive efforts among citizens are essential for overcoming developmental challenges, asserting that “a tree cannot make a forest.” He called on stakeholders to return home and assist in managing the affairs of the Emirate, as he cannot do it alone.

Expressing concern over the lagging social and political development within the Emirate, the Emir appealed to residents, especially those living outside the community, to contribute to its growth.

Attahiru II expressed optimism about the founding of the Rafi Development Foundation, believing its endeavors will enhance the Emirate’s reputation among local, national, and international development partners, thereby attracting economic, social, and political investments.

Prior to this, the Foundation’s interim Chairman, Mal. Ibrahim Ahmed Ushama, also the Sarkin Yakin Kagara, introduced the Foundation’s goals, emphasizing its registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission. The primary objective is to unify the sons and daughters of Kagara Emirate for critical developmental initiatives.

Sarkin Yaki highlighted that without understanding and cooperation, meaningful progress is unattainable, especially amidst discord. He appreciated the Emir’s hospitality and sought his guidance in rallying the elites toward community development.

He requested the Emir’s royal blessing, reaffirming that the Foundation is apolitical and unbiased, ready to collaborate with politicians across all party lines.

Alh. Ibrahim Ahmed stated that the Foundation is ‘for everybody and belongs to nobody,” emphasizing members’ dedication to the Emirate’s betterment.

The Foundation members expressed gratitude for the warm reception, pledging to work diligently alongside the Emirate Council, State, Federal Government, and international partners to foster development.

Mal. Ibrahim Ahmed Inga, the Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management, affirmed his membership in the Foundation and announced the appointment of Usman Ayuba Katako as liaison chairman to facilitate collaboration.

He recounted attending the initial meeting in Minna and reaffirmed his commitment to active participation.

The visit featured prominent officials including the Commissioner for Humanitarian and Disaster Management, former Chief of Staff Mal. Ibrahim Balarabe, Special Adviser on Diaspora to Kano State Governor Mal. Danladi Umar Abdulhamid, Professor Abdullahi of FUT Minna, among others.

The occasion concluded with a warm reception by the Emir and a group photograph.
