Gunmen Abduct Kaduna Catholic Priest, Kill Cleric’s Brother in Midnight Attack

Suspected terrorists have kidnapped Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal, the Parish Priest of St. Stephen Parish, Kushe Gugbu, in Kaduna State’s Kagarko Local Government Area. The attack happened early Monday morning, November 17, 2025, when armed men invaded the parish grounds and took the priest from his home.
The Archdiocese of Kaduna confirmed the incident in a statement from its Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel. The statement also said that the attackers murdered the brother of another priest, Rev. Fr. Anthony Yero, during the assault.
Fr. Okewu added that several others were abducted by the gunmen, raising concerns about another coordinated attack on rural communities in the area.
“We call on all men and women of goodwill to join us in praying for their safety and quick release from their captors and for the peaceful repose of the dead. Amen,” the statement read.
