EFCC Reallocates Over ₦104 Million in Tax Funds to Niger State Revenue Board.
The Ilorin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officially transferred ₦104,091,162.46 to the Niger State Government. This recovery stems from unremitted taxes owed by Kiara Rice Mills Limited, located in Kpatsuwa Village, Mokwa Local Government Area.
The outstanding taxes cover the period from 2021 to 2024, during which the company operated profitably within the state but failed to remit due taxes. The handover ceremony occurred at the EFCC’s Ilorin office on November 12, 2025.
The recovery was initiated following actionable intelligence received in February 2025, leading to an investigation by the EFCC’s Foreign Exchange Malpractice Section. This investigation confirmed the infractions and facilitated the full recovery of the dues.
EFCC Executive Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede, represented by Ilorin Zonal Director Commander CE Ansalem Ozioko, Ph.D., emphasized the Commission’s efforts in combatting economic crimes and returning recovered funds to their rightful owners.
He highlighted the importance of sustained collaboration between the EFCC and the Niger State Government in the fight against corruption and encouraged citizens to report financial misconduct.
Alhaji Aminu Bawa, Group Head of Tax Operations at Niger State Internal Revenue Service, received the funds on behalf of the state, expressing gratitude for the EFCC’s professionalism.
He assured that the recovered funds would be allocated to development projects aimed at benefiting the residents of Niger State.
The EFCC reaffirmed its dedication to investigating all financial infractions and ensuring that public funds are recovered to improve the welfare of citizens.
