Governor Bago Moves to Strengthen Education Sector with Dissolution of Niger State Universal Basic Education Board.
In a significant administrative shift, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has announced the immediate dissolution of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), including the position of the Secretary to the Board.
This move, outlined in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, is part of the Governor’s broader strategy to enhance the efficiency and accountability of the education sector in the state.
The initiative aims to improve service delivery and reposition the educational framework for better outcomes.
The statement instructs all members of the dissolved Board, along with the Secretary, to transfer all official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
Governor Bago expressed his gratitude to the outgoing board members and the Secretary for their service, acknowledging their contributions to the advancement of basic education in Niger State.
