Nigeria Union of Journalists Radio Niger Chapel Mourns the Passing of Hajiya Halima Mohammed
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Radio Niger Chapel, is mourning the unexpected death of our esteemed colleague, Hajiya Halima Mohammed, who passed away on October 30, 2025.
Her sudden demise has caused widespread shock and grief within the journalism community, especially since she attended a recent event celebrating fellow journalist Salamatu Sani Hairu just last weekend, where she appeared to be in excellent health.
Hajiya Halima was a highly respected member of the News and Current Affairs department. Her remarkable contributions significantly impacted our organization, particularly through her role as a mentor to young journalists in the areas of Hausa news translation and journalistic practices.
Her dedication to nurturing the next generation of reporters has left an enduring legacy.
The Radio Niger Chapel of the NUJ extends its deepest condolences to Hajiya Halima’s family, relatives, and the wider NUJ state council during this challenging time.
We pray to Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her eternal peace in Aljannatu Firdausi.

Signed :-
Umar Borno
Chairman, NUJ
