Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board Sets N8.5 Million Deposit for 2026/1447 Hajj Fare as NAHCON Allocates 5,156 Seats to the State

The Niger State Pilgrims Welfare Board has established a deposit of N8.5 million as the required payment for the 2026/1447 Hajj Fare for intending pilgrims from the State.
This decision aligns with the recent announcement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), which set N8.5 million as the minimum deposit.
During a crucial meeting, Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, the Executive Secretary of the Board, reported that NAHCON has allocated 5,156 seats to the State. He emphasized that every intending pilgrim must possess an E-passport before making a payment to facilitate the new electronic transaction registration system of the Board.
The E-passport number will serve as a reference for the payment, and the payment receipt will be required as evidence, which must be presented to the various Area Pilgrims Welfare Officers (APWOs).
According to Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Aliyu, payments will be processed through Taj Bank and other designated banks. He also stated that the Board will conduct a thorough evaluation of each intending pilgrim’s health status to determine their eligibility at both the local government and state levels.
The Board will provide detailed guidelines and support to assist intending pilgrims throughout the payment process, ensuring that they are well-informed and prepared for their spiritual journey.
