15 Million Nigerians to Receive ₦25,000 Each: Free Transfers by Tinubu’s Government.
By Our Reporter
The Federal Government of Nigeria is expanding its National Cash Transfer Programme to assist 15 million vulnerable citizens. Each beneficiary will receive ₦25,000 in three separate payments.
This initiative is a key part of the government’s efforts to address the economic hardships caused by the removal of fuel subsidies, aiming to provide direct financial relief to those in need.
To ensure transparency and accountability, the funds will be deposited directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts, which are linked to their National Identification Numbers (NIN) and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN).
Eligibility for the cash transfer is based on inclusion in the National Social Register, which lists poor and vulnerable households in each state.
In addition to this program, the government is also working on other social safety net initiatives, such as the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), which provides loans to small business owners, traders, and farmers.
