Fulani Leaders Urged to Promote Peaceful Coexistence in Niger State.

In a recent gathering in the Maitumbi area of Bosso local government area, Alhaji Hassan Usman Shiroro, the Wakilin Fulani of Minna, emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue as a means to resolve conflicts between Fulani herdsmen and their host communities in Niger State.
Addressing Fulani elders, he urged them to engage actively with local district, village, and ward heads to explore amicable solutions to ongoing tensions.
Alhaji Hassan Shiroro highlighted the critical role of unity among the Fulani people. He encouraged elders to involve their communities in traditional events to promote stability in the region. “No development can occur in an atmosphere of rancor,” he stated, reinforcing the need for dialogue in resolving disputes.
He also expressed gratitude to the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Farooq Bahago, for his continued support of Fulani herdsmen and urged the community to reciprocate by maintaining peace.
Alhaji Isyaku Mohammed Kaduna, the Ardo Fulani of the Shaku area in Maitumbi, echoed Shiroro’s sentiments and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering harmony between Fulani herdsmen and local farmers.
He encouraged herdsmen to report any conflicts, no matter how minor, to his office rather than resorting to self-justice, emphasizing that the office was established as a platform for dialogue and conflict resolution.
The meeting served as an important step toward strengthening relationships and promoting understanding between Fulani herdsmen and their host communities within Bosso and the broader Niger State community.
