Niger State Assembly Urges Immediate Action on Critical Road Repairs.
The Niger State House of Assembly has formally called on the Executive Arm of the Niger State Government to take swift action regarding the deteriorating condition of the Zungeru-Tegina road.
During a recent session, Hon. Zubairu Ismail Zanna, who represents the Rafi Constituency, sponsored a motion emphasizing the need for the government to ensure that the contractor responsible for the road implements necessary repairs or offers alternative solutions to prevent commuter difficulties.
The assembly highlighted that the Zungeru-Tegina road serves as a vital transportation link, connecting Niger State with several other states in the North West region.
The current state of disrepair poses significant challenges for travelers, making immediate intervention crucial to avert further degradation of the route.
Additionally, the assembly addressed concerns regarding the collapse of bridges and culverts along the Loguma-Baro road.
Hon. Isa Muhammad Etsugaie, representing the Agaie Constituency, brought attention to the urgent need for remedial repairs to prevent total mobility disruption for residents who rely on this essential route.
Recognizing the Loguma-Baro road’s importance to various communities within the state, members emphasized that timely action is necessary to restore access and alleviate the hardships faced by commuters.
Deputy Speaker Hon. Afiniki Eunice Dauda, who presided over the session, directed the Clerk of the House to forward the resolutions to the Executive for prompt consideration.
