Niger State First Lady pays suprise night visit to hospitals, offers hope and support to patients
In a heartwarming display of compassion and dedication to healthcare support, Her Excellency, Hajiya Fatima Mohammed Bago, the First Lady of Niger State, paid a surprise night visit to the Minna General Hospital and the Jummai Babangida Maternal and Neonatal Hospital in Minna.
According to a Press Release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the First Lady, Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano, the visit, which took place between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on Sunday Night.
The visit is part of her ongoing humanitarian outreach aimed at providing comfort, hope, and support to patients in need.
Hadiza Abdullahi Maikano, the visit was described as a continuation of Her Excellency’s unwavering commitment to healthcare support and social welfare.
She said the purpose of the visit was to assess firsthand the condition of patients and offer them financial assistance to ease the burden of medical expenses.
At the Minna General Hospital, Hajiya Fatima Bago moved from ward to ward, interacting personally with patients and their caregivers. She listened attentively to their concerns, offered words of encouragement, and extended cash tokens to support their treatment and recovery.
It will be recalled that the First Lady has paid similar surprise visits to several hospitals in previous years, specifically in 2023, 2024, and early 2025, including the Minna General Hospital, Jummai Babangida Neonatal Hospital, IBB Specialised Hospital, and M.I. Wushishi Hospital.
These visits reflect her deep compassion and dedication to the wellbeing of the people of Niger State.
Hajiya Fatima Bago has reaffirmed her commitment to extending such visits to health facilities across the state, as part of her broader efforts to complement the vision and initiatives of His Excellency, Umaru Mohammed Bago, the Executive Governor of Niger State.
