Niger State Closes IBBU, Lapai With Immediate Effect.

The Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has directed the immediate closure of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) in Lapai until further notice.
This decision comes in response to recent security breaches and the unfortunate loss of lives within the university community.
The safety and security of all citizens, including students, remain the government’s top priority. The Niger State government is deeply saddened by these incidents and is taking measures to address the situation swiftly.
We urge the university community to remain vigilant, calm, and cooperate with authorities during this period of closure.
The state government is working diligently to restore order, ensure the safety of all residents, and maintain peace within the state.
Additionally, the government assures the public that every effort is being made to investigate the security breaches and apprehend those responsible.
The government is committed to upholding law and order, as well as protecting the lives and property of all residents in Niger State.
