A Fresh Crisis Rocks APC Over Tinubu’s Automatic Ticket.

Chief Charles Udeogaranya, a chieftain and presidential aspirant within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019, has publicly rejected the notion of an automatic ticket for the party’s presidential candidate in the 2027 election.
His statement comes after the party leadership and APC governors, along with National Assembly lawmakers, endorsed President Bola Tinubu at the APC National Summit held in Abuja.
Udeogaranya emphasized that there should be no preferential treatment or automatic tickets for any presidential aspirants in the upcoming election.
In the statement he signed, Udeogaranya expressed his intent to run for the presidency on the APC platform in 2027. He noted, “While I sincerely appreciate my fellow APC members for their efforts at the Abuja Summit, I must respectfully inform them that this democracy, birthed by Thomas Jefferson in his Declaration of Independence in 1776, reinforced by Abraham Lincoln in his Gettysburg Address in 1863, and globally advocated by Martin Luther King Jr. in his 1963 speech in Washington, will not fail in Nigeria come 2027.”
Udeogaranya argued, “There is no room for consensus on continuous hunger and chronic poverty in Nigeria; no room for consensus on the economic quagmire; no room for consensus on insecurity; no room for consensus on nepotism; and no room for consensus on cluelessness. There is also no room for me, myself, and I in the leadership of Nigeria.”
He concluded by declaring his intention to contest for the presidency on the APC platform, aiming to foster a better Nigeria based on creativity, nationalism, and prosperity for all Nigerians.
