Niger State Government to Establish Special Purpose Vehicle for Partnership with NASDRA.
The Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has instructed his Commissioner for Communication, Technology, and Digital Economy, Suleiman Isah, to collaborate with the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASDRA) in the establishment of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV).
This initiative aims to facilitate a successful partnership with the agency.
Governor Bago issued this directive during a meeting with a delegation from NASDRA, led by its Director-General, Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, at the Niger State liaison office in Abuja.
He emphasized the timeliness of this collaboration, noting that the establishment of an SPV is crucial for overcoming bureaucratic hurdles, accelerating the partnership, and ensuring positive outcomes.
Furthermore, the Governor stated that the SPV will outline the terms of the partnership and will be officially gazetted, following practices in various sectors.
During the meeting, Dr. Adepoju highlighted NASDRA’s interest in partnering with the Niger State government to leverage its technology for advancements in agriculture, security, and education, among other areas.
He commended Governor Bago for his vision in utilizing technology to enhance critical sectors within the state, describing him as the right leader for the task at hand.
A PowerPoint presentation was provided by NASDRA, illustrating how space technology can be applied across various sectors to promote good governance in Niger State.
Governor Bago expressed his satisfaction with the presentation and the potential benefits of this partnership.
