Chairman of NUJ, Niger State council Congratulates Muslim Ummah on the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah Celebration.
Comrade Abu Nmodu, Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr Sallah festival.
In a message issued by the Assistant Secretary of the Council, Comrade Abubakar Adamu Kuta, the Chairman emphasized that Eid-el-Fitr is a time for introspection and self-assessment.
He encouraged individuals to reflect on their actions and habits, noting that by recognizing their shortcomings and striving for improvement, they can enhance their character and positively impact both their own lives and the lives of others beyond Ramadan.
The statement reads: “I join the entire Muslim ummah in celebrating this year’s Eid-el-Fitr. We have learned many valuable lessons during the recently concluded Ramadan fast. I encourage us all to not only internalize these lessons but also to let them reflect in our interactions beyond the fasting and Eid period.
“Experiencing hunger and thirst during Ramadan can heighten our awareness of the needs and struggles of others, especially those who are less fortunate. This awareness fosters compassion and encourages acts of charity and generosity, both during and after the month of Ramadan.
“While promoting unity and peaceful coexistence, we must remember that Islam values diversity within society and emphasizes the need for respect and tolerance among Muslims, as well as between Muslims and non-Muslims alike.”
He urged all Muslim faithful to act upon the commandments of Allah and fulfill their duties to become good Muslims.
He concluded with a prayer: “May Allah shower His blessings and mercy upon you and your households. May Almighty Allah grant us the opportunity to witness more of these occasions in peace and success. Amin. Barka da Sallah and Happy Eid-el-Fitr!”
