2024 Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year in Agriculture: Farmer Governor Umaru Bago Dedicates Award to All Farmers in Nigeria

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dedicated his 2024 Sun Newspaper Governor of the Year award in Agriculture to all farmers in Nigeria.
He made this statement after receiving the award at a ceremony held in Lagos.
Governor Bago emphasized that this honor is not just for him, but for everyone in Niger State and all farmers across the country.
He expressed his appreciation to the management and staff of Sun Publishing Limited for recognizing his efforts in the agricultural sector.
He also reassured the people of his renewed commitment to achieving the goal of feeding the nation.
Earlier in the event, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the chairman of the occasion and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), congratulated all awardees, stating that their recognition was well-deserved.
He acknowledged the significant contributions of the award recipients in their respective categories.
Dr. Ganduje also highlighted the critical role journalism played in Nigeria’s independence and encouraged journalists to focus more on developmental journalism while adhering to its core ethical standards.
Other awardees included the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; Governors Alh. Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, and Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi.
Additional honorees included Senator Ali Ndume, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru (wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State), and Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
