Governor Dr. Umar Bago to Be Honored with “Pensioners Friendly Governor” Award.

The Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mohammed Umar Bago, has received a nomination for a distinguished award from the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) in recognition of his exemplary and exceptional dedication to the welfare of pensioners within the state.
In a correspondence undersigned by the General Secretary of the NUP, Elder Actor Zal, the organization commended Governor Bago for his commitment to settling accumulated pension arrears and gratuities, a significant achievement that has garnered national acknowledgment.
To facilitate this accomplishment, Governor Bago has implemented strategic measures within the Niger State Pensions Board by appointing experienced and dedicated personnel, thereby introducing an automated operating system. This initiative has led to enhanced performance, accountability, and overall efficiency within the Pension Board.
The union has characterized Governor Bago as “a blessing to this generation” and designated him as “Pensioners’ Most Friendly Governor,” highlighting his unwavering commitment to the welfare of senior citizens in Niger State.
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners has formally announced that Governor Mohammed Umar Bago will be presented with the award at the NUP’s 12th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference, scheduled to convene on April 15, 2025, in Kano.
The event will be presided over by the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Furthermore, the union has extended an invitation to Governor Bago to attend this biennial conference, which occurs every four years.
Governor Bago’s nomination for this prestigious award serves as a testament to his administration’s steadfast commitment to the welfare of pensioners in Niger State.
