Tinubu Initiates Comprehensive Reform of N-Power Scheme.

From Our Reporter.

In a significant move to enhance the effectiveness of the N-Power scheme, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mandated a comprehensive reform aimed at providing more impactful opportunities for Nigerian youth.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, announced this initiative, highlighting the government’s commitment to transforming the program into a vital link between skill acquisition and sustainable employment.

Dr. Yilwatda elaborated that the newly revamped N-Power scheme would extend beyond mere training, ensuring that participants are effectively connected with job markets and private sector opportunities.

This strategic shift is designed to ensure that the skills acquired through the program translate into meaningful, long-term employment prospects.

As part of this initiative, over 100,000 items have been procured for distribution to beneficiaries nationwide.

Furthermore, President Tinubu has approved a budget of ₦32.7 billion for the implementation of the National Social Investment Program (NSIP) in 2025.

The NSIP will introduce low-interest cooperative cluster credits ranging from ₦300,000 to ₦400,000, specifically targeting small business owners and addressing poverty, with a focus on vulnerable groups such as women and youth.

By facilitating access to these funds, the program aims to assist beneficiaries in launching or expanding their businesses, ultimately improving their livelihoods.

The administration has expressed confidence that 2025 will mark a year of notable progress as it advances its economic reforms under the #RenewedHope agenda.

These reforms are intended to drive sustainable development and ensure that all citizens can benefit from the government’s efforts to foster a more inclusive and prosperous society.
