The esteemed Nurul-Islam M.S.M.S Islamic school, located in Barikin Sale, Minna, recently celebrated the graduation of approximately 99 students who successfully memorized the Holy Qur’an during the 10th edition of their Halima program.
The graduation ceremony took place in a grand fashion at the Barikin Sale primary school field, where the graduates were presented with certificates of completion.
In his address at the ceremony, Mallam Suleiman Aliyu, the tutor in charge of the Nurul Islam M.S.M.S Islamiya, emphasized the school’s mission to instill Islamic knowledge in children from an early age.
He underscored the importance of nurturing this knowledge as a means to address challenges related to youth restiveness in the state capital and enhance the community’s reputation.
Mallam Aliyu urged the graduates to remain obedient, respectful, and diligent toward their parents and God.
He also encouraged parents to actively engage with their children’s moral and religious education to ensure their continued growth on the path of Allah.
Sheikh Rabiu Usman Garima, the Chief Imam of M.I Wushishi Estate, delivered a lecture during the event, urging graduates to view their memorization of the Holy Qur’an as an enduring legacy.
He advocated for a balanced education that includes both Western and Islamic teachings to cultivate good societal morals.
The Chief Imam recognized the vital role played by parents and all contributors who supported the success of the graduation ceremony.
He advised the graduates to maintain their connection with the Qur’an by reciting portions daily to reinforce the knowledge they have acquired.
A distinguished scholar, addressing the audience, reiterated the significance of reading the Holy Qur’an and encouraged Muslims to invest in promoting Islamic knowledge, which would yield rewards in both this life and the hereafter.
In their expressions of gratitude, graduate Zainab Abdulrafiu and her peers praised the school’s proprietor and management for their commitment to delivering God’s knowledge. They pledged to share their newly acquired wisdom with others and pass it on to future generations.
The ceremony featured Qur’anic recitations, the presentation of certificates, and an engaging lecture from a guest speaker, marking a memorable occasion in the lives of the graduates.
