Barr Yahaya Halidu Assumed office as the New Director General/CEO of the Niger State Liquor board.

Barrister Yahaya Sayuti Halidu (Pera) has been re-appointed as the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger State Liquor licensing board by the State government to Pilot the affairs of the board for the second term.
Barrister Halidu who spoke to the Nigeria daily post in an interview on his assumption of officer yesterday, had promised to work in line with the mandate of liquor licensing law as the primary mandate of the board to regulate the production, sales, distribution, and consumption of liquor across the state.
Halidu promised to completely extinguish prostitution, fornication, and adultery across the state.
“As that aspect of prostitution and fornication of adultery is an addendum on the amendment section of liquor law,”
which made an extra front from the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria”.
According to him, this is in line with the expectation of the law to discourage and completely exterminate prostitution, adultery, and fornication.
Barr Halidu stated that his plan for the board would be to ensure this mandate would be carried out with every utmost commitment, and he will put everything machinery in place to ensure that it is done in the state’s interest.
He said the board under his watch would help the Farmer governor, Mohammed Umar Bago, to boost the revenue generation of the state adding that “Everybody in the state today knows His Excellency’s efforts to move the state forward; that is evidenced by the fact that everywhere you go, not only within the state capital but across the state, you see projects springing up, roads construction with that, this board will put in its maximum effort to give the government utmost cooperation in revenue generation to augment its developmental drive.
He disclosed that the board will give its best to the government to achieve its aims and objectives.
“Already, as I resume office today, I’ve made some key appointments
to help me improve the revenue drive of the board.”And most importantly, even while I was here before as the executive chairman,there was what we call a tax force that was helping me to conduct revenue collection in doing this, there was then, and of course, there is still one today”.
He disclosed that the board shall collaborate with a representative of the State Board of Inland Revenue that will aid the management immensely in Making returns to the government.
He mentioned that with this development, he has already given a directive that the accountant and the board’s secretary will collaborate to make the general public aware of the government revenue accounts, TSN.
He then calls on beer vendors to ensure they pay their dues to the government or that business premises are closed for noncompliance.
