Robbers Attack El-Kanemi Warriors Players and Officials

The El-Kanemi Warriors Football Club team bus was ambushed by armed robbers in Rijiyar Malam village along the Jos-Bauchi road in Bauchi State, injuring several players and officials.
The incident occurred while the team was traveling for a league match.
Suleiman Abdullahi, the Personal Assistant to the Technical Adviser of the club, confirmed that the attack took place around 12:45 AM on Saturday.
“We were en route from Jos to Maiduguri when the armed robbers ambushed our two buses.
They fired shots indiscriminately, stopped the buses along with a saloon car, and ordered all the occupants to exit.
They attacked us with machetes and sticks, robbing us of money, mobile phones, and other valuables.
As a result, more than 10 players and officials sustained injuries,” Abdullahi stated.
Following the incident, the victims were rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital in Bauchi for treatment.
The matter was subsequently reported to the GRA Police Station in Bauchi, after which the team continued its journey to Maiduguri.
SP Ahmed Wakil, the spokesman for the Bauchi Police Command, confirmed the event, noting that the Secretary of the Kanemi Warriors Football Club, Dahiru Bala, had reported it to the police. Wakil stated,
“Currently, our officers have received directives from the Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for this heinous act.
Additionally, players who were robbed of their belongings can contact the command through our rescue application to help trace and recover their stolen phones.”
