Premium Pension Beneficiaries of 7.5 refund in Niger state mulls over non-payment,seeks Gov. Umaru Bago’s intervention.
Beneficiaries of 7.5 contributory pension scheme refund under premium pension limited in Niger state have expressed their bitterness over non payment of their entitlement despite the state government’s directive to make the refund to certain categories of civil servants who were exempted in the scheme by the law that established it.
According to the aggrieved civil servants, after the directive by the state government to the pension administrator for the refund , some civil servants got their money since May this year while others have been placed on awaiting list up till date .
They averred that when contacted, the Minna head office of the premium Pension limited confirmed to them that they are yet to get approval from the National Pension Commission, otherwise known as PENCOM to carry on with the payment stressing that their hands are also tight in respect to the situation.
The Minna head office of the premium pension limited says it receives several calls on a daily basis in respect to the refund from the awaiting beneficiaries . They said with the present economic hardship, if such refunds were made to them it would have taken care of certain part of their needs.
The aggrieved civil servants therefore appealed to the listening Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umar Bago, a friend of the civil servants to wade once more into the matter to ensure those that are yet to be paid get their money in earnest.
