Gbapo community in Katcha benefits from Niger state govt”s agricultural intervention.
Ten thousand hectares of farmland in the Gbapo community of Katcha local government Area of Niger State have been mapped out for small-holder farmers to benefit from Niger State government’s Agricultural intervention program.
Two thousand out of the ten thousand holders of the farmlands received inputs.
At a flagged off ceremony, in Yinti village, the facilitator of the program, Shinkafa Nupe, Mallam Idris Usman Makanta, assured the farmers of upscaling distributions to the mapped out ten thousand farmlands if farmers respond positively.
He said the commencement of the two thousand is to measure the positive response of farmers before getting full scale support.
Mallam Usman Makanta stated that it is in line with the farmers initial commitment to through NIGER FOODS whose mission is majorly geared towards establishing an efficient and profitable Agricultural businesses to support the present administration of Governor Umar Mohammed Bago’s quest to boost agricultural productivity in the State.
He commended NIGER FOODS for their steadfastness and resilience for effective implementation of the input financing scheme.
Mallam Makanta restated the assurance of the state Governor, in is committed to making judicious use of the arable land in the state.
SHINKAFAN NUPE, therefore, urged the farmers to support the governor by using the inputs justifiably so the dream can be actualised.
