64th Independence Anniversary: SGF Highlights Tinubu’s Achievements
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has enumerated the significant accomplishments that have positively impacted the daily lives of citizens.
Akume said this on Thursday at the World Press Conference in Abuja, as part of the inter-ministerial event commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence anniversary.
Akume said that, as part of the key achievements, the government encourages the conversion to CNG-powered land transportation by distributing CNG conversion kits at no cost to Nigerians, thereby alleviating transportation difficulties and improving the lives of Nigerians.
He stated that the government has also promoted economic growth by implementing policies to boost the economy and promote national development.
He further noted that, the government has invested in infrastructure development, focusing on critical infrastructure projects to enhance the country’s competitiveness.
The current administration remains committed to transparency and accountability, ensuring that its initiatives benefit the masses,” Akume stated.
He added that President Tinubu has assured Nigerians of his administration’s dedication to building a prosperous and unified nation.
Akume also noted that a total of 22,120 students have benefited from N2.5 billion disbursed by the Nigerian Students Loan Fund.
“In the area of human capital development, the Nigerian Students Loan Fund has disbursed N2.5 billion to over 22,120 beneficiaries across higher institutions in the nation. This is a welcome relief for parents and an opportunity for indigent students to access education.”
Regarding insecurity, Akume said, “Insecurity in different parts of the country has been a recurring challenge for successive governments since 1999.
“This administration has succeeded in elevating the human and institutional capacity of the armed services and other security agencies to tackle these challenges of insurgency, banditry, and other criminal activities,’he added.
