Almajiri, Out of School Children Committee Pays Advocacy Visit to Emir of Suleja.

Niger State Committee on Almajiri and Out of School Children led by Alhaji Shuaibu Gwada,has paid an advocacy visit to the Emir of Suleja, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Muhammad Awwal Ibrahim as part of it’s effort towards addressing the Almajiri menace in the State. .
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Shuaibu Gwada, said the delegation were in the Emir Palace to seek for his support and advise on the way forward.
Alhaji Shuibu Gwada stated that the Committee was set up by the Farmer Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago, to address Almajiri and Out of the School children’s problem in the state.
He then called for the adoption of a holistic approach in transforming the Almajiri system,adding that the Almajiri phenomenon most be addressed to fit into the present Nigerian reality in the area.
Receiving the committee on behalf of the Emir, the Madakin Zazzau Suleja, Engineer Shuaibu Gani,
said that Emir of Suleja has assured that he would continue to offer advise on how to tackle Almajiri and out of school Children syndrome in the State.
He stated that Emir of Suleja, during his assignment on the Almajiri reform,said the task was challenging, hence the need for the committee to brace up to eradicate the menace in it totality and to tackle it root causes.
In a related development the Committee also paid an advocacy visit to Barrister Maryam Uwais in Abuja the Federal Capital
The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Shuibu Gwada, said they were in her office to seek for her support and cooperation on the task before them being a pioneer of the advocacy in Nigeria.
Barrister Maryam Uwais in her speech stated that modernization of Almajiri is one of solutions towards addressing the menance of out of school children in the country.
Barrister Maryam then promised to support the committee in tackling and eradicating the root causes through legal means.
