Niger state government under the able leadership of farmer Goernor Umaru Mohammed Bago has called upon yo urgent action in tackling scarcity of water bedevelling Minna and it’s environs.
The Chairman Nigeria Bar Association Niger state , Barrister Waziri Mohammed made the call in a chart with Newsmen shortly after a meeting of the Association held at the Minna High Court complex today.
According to him, scarcity of water had hit Minna the state Capital in recent times there by rendering residents in search of water even at mid night hence the need for government to take proactive measures to address the issue.
He said the NBA as part of its resolutions of the meeting also commend the effort of the state Governor Farmer Umaru Mohammed Bago for the steps taking in given Minna township road a face lift adding the new road. network project will improve the socio economic status of the state.
The state branch Nigeria Bar Association NBA, Chairmen also used the forum and called on the both Federal and State Government to constitute a consumer protectio commission so as to check the alarming hike in the prices of food stuff in the market, pointing out the hike had caused devastating effects on the less preveledge in the society.
On the issue of remoral of fuel subsidy and power outrage experienced natio wide in particular Niger dtate Barrister Waziri Mohammed appeal to state government to impress on the management of ADC to ensure normalcy in the supply of electricity to its customers.
In another development an electoral Committee to conduct 2024/2025 election into various office of the association was inaugurated.
Speaking withe newsmen immediately after the inauguration, the chairman of the electoral Committee, Barrister El Shiru said arrangements have been concluded for successful and fare election, adding that very soon the electoral committee will come out names of contestants.
Part of the activities at the meeting was the commissioning of a Common room and a convenience apartment for members of the Association donated by the Judiciary under the leadership of Chief Judge of State, Justice Halima Ibrahim Abdul Malik.
