Farmer Gov. Bago assures of Commitment to ending terrorisn, visits hostile terrains of Munya.
Farmer Governor of Niger State, Rt. Hon. Umaru Mohammed Bago has reiterated commitment to purging the state of banditry and kidnapping especially in the fringes and hostile communities in Munya Local Government of the state.
A statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor of Niger State, Hajiya Ummikhaltume Abdullahi Kuta said the visit was part of the renewed effort of the government to have a first hand assessment of the concerns of the people, particularly victims of banditry and terrorism
The statement further indicated that the Farmer Governor who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba interfaced with various security forces, Internally Dispalced Persons, and community representatives in Sarkin Pawa.
“Mangoro community, one of the fringes and ungoverned spaces of Munya local government where the dreaded Ali Kachala met his Waterloo and which was hitherto deserted and had became a ghost community for over four years was among the places visited
“The Governor assured of his commitment to leave no stone unturned in a bid to restore security and peace in every inch of Niger State and urged the security forces to remain resolute and patriotic in defending the sovereignty and integrity of Nigeria.
“The jubilant community members appreciated the government for the new approach in taming terrorism. They reminisced the many gains of the present Bago-led administration, particularly the improved security in Munya local government” the statement concluded.
