Niger Govt reiterates it’s Commitment to the promotion of responsible leadership.
Niger State Government has reiterated its continued commitment to the promotion of good governance and responsible leadership for the betterment of the people and the State as a whole.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman made the disclosure when a delegation from Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’ah Waikamatus Sunnah with Headquarters in Jos, Niger State Chapter and Jamiyyatul Ansarideen Attijaniyu, Niger State Chapter led by Sheikh Abubakar Abu and Alhaji Awal Wushishi in his office.
Alhaji Usman pointed out that peace and harmony prevailing in the State are borne out of the spirit of tolerance and a sense of religious maturity displayed by the adherents of the two religions.
The SSG further explained that unity, peace, and security remain vital ingredients for the progress and development of any nation, hence the need for people of the State to live peacefully with one another regardless of religious affiliations.
He told the two organizations that the State should count itself lucky with a leader who is visionary and committed to the development and welfare of the citizens irrespective of religious, political, regional, or social affiliations.
According to the SSG, “Despite the security challenges that are bedeviling the State, it remains the most peaceful State in the country and attributed the feat to good governance and servant leadership embarked upon since the inception of the present administration.
Alhaji Usman appealed to Nigerlites to continue to pray for the leadership of the present administration in the State to achieve its vision and put the State on the path of real development.
Accountability, good governance, probity, and due diligence were the framework on which the society and democracy thrive and called on the people to continue to support and co-operate with the present Government’s commitment to improve the lots of the citizenry, the SSG added.
Earlier in their separate remarks, the Leaders of Jama’atul Izalatul Bidi’ah Waikamatus Sunnah and Jamiyyatul Ansarideen Attijaniyu, Sheikh Abubakar Abu and Alhaji Awal Wushishi assured the SSG that they would not relent in supporting the leadership of the State and the country at large with prayers to enable them succeed in their official responsibilities.
They stressed that their organizations are aware of the tremendous role the Governor is playing towards ensuring the maintenance of peace as well as tackling the security challenges in the State and urged him not to relent.
