Gov. Umaru Bago to facilitates establishment of tertiary Institution in Suleja Emirate.
Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has disclosed that his administration will ensure the establishment of tertiary institutions in Suleja Emirate.
Governor Umaru Bago disclosed this during the grand celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Emir of Zazzau Suleja on the throne, held at the Emir’s palace, Suleja.
The Governor who decried the absence of a single tertiary institution in Suleja emirate said he will work closely with lawmakers from the Emirate to ensure both Federal and State high institutions are established in the emirate to meet the educational needs of the people of the emirate.
While assuring the people of his administration’s determination to execute people-oriented projects in the Emirate, the Governor also announced that the groundbreaking for the construction of roads in Suleja will be done in the next 30 days.
He further stated that every effort will be made to ensure the provision of portable and safe drinking water to the people of Suleja and environs.
The Governor who expressed gratitude to God for the life of the Emir of Zazzau Suleja described him as a father, mentor and great teacher who is very patient with all, and wished him continuous good health, and peace in his reign.
In his remarks, the Emir of Zazzau Suleja, Mallam Muhammadu Awwal Ibrahim appreciated God for life and wisdom to lead his subjects in the last 30 years.
The Emir appealed to the State government for more infrastructural development in the Emirate and initiatives that will empower the teaming youths not only in the emirate but the State as a whole.
He assured the people of his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the people of his emirate.
The Chairman of the occasion and Emir of Lafiya, Justice Sidi Bage recounted the long-standing cordial relationship that has existed between the Lafia Emirate and the Suleja Emirate.
He observed that God has been so gracious to the Emir of Zazzau Suleja and then prayed for a long life and more successful years on the throne.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mu’azu Hamidu Jantabo called on traditional rulers in the state to ensure that their subjects key into the vision and mission of Governor Bago’s administration while assuring the support of the Ministry for the successful implementation of the policies and programmes of the present administration.
In their goodwill messages, the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Adamu, Emir of Kontagora Muhammad Barau Mu’azu Il, Justice Musa Dattijo, described the Emir of Zazzau Suleja as a patient teacher, a man of truth and integrity as well as a man of humility and sincerity.
The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Sen. Sani Mohammed Musa, and the Chairman of Suleja Local Government, Ishaiku Bawa Na’ibi, described the Emir of Zazzau Suleja as a revered and exemplary leader who has done so well in the development of not only Suleja Emirate but the State and wished him continued favour of God.
The cultural event which attracted traditional leaders both from within and outside the state climaxed with a mini Durbar; the procession of adorned horses and their riders, hunters, and cultural troops, among others displaying.
