GOV. UMARU BAGO CALLS FOR UNITY AS NIGER STATE JOINS OTHER NIGERIANS TO CELEBRATE NIGERIA @ 63
Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago has called on Nigerlites and Nigerians in general to remain united as the Nation continues to strive towards development.
The Governor stated this during the 63rd Independence Anniversary celebration which took place at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna.
Governor Umaru Bago who was represented at the event by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, urged Nigerians to always imbibe the spirit of oneness as a vital tool for peace and development.
The Governor said it is only through peaceful living that Nigerians will be able to prosper and meet the yearnings and aspirations of the Nation in general.
He called on Nigerians to contribute their quota to Nation-building while reiterating that the Government is well aware of the situation of its citizens and is working round the clock to ensure that things get better.
Umaru Bago also appealed to Nigerlites not to lose hope in the present Government but should be resilient and remain prayerful for the success of the present administration.
The Secretary to the State Government, Abubakar Usman and the Speaker, Niger State House of Assembly Abdulmalik Muhammad in their remarks acknowledged that the Country has recorded tremendous successes over the years even in the face of some daunting challenges and assured Nigerlites that significant progress will be made.
The event was well attended by top government officials, Security Chiefs in the State, members of the State Executive Council, representatives of the State Council of Traditional Rulers, and APC Chieftains amongst others.
