GIZ SEDIN Assures Sustainable Devt Partnership With Niger State Govt
The GIZ and SEDIN Nigeria has assured the sustainability of its collaboration with the Niger state government to enhanced socio-economic, infrastructure and security development of the state.
Head of Cluster, Sustainable Economic Development of the GIZ/ SEDIN, Mr Markus Wauschuhn made this known at a workshop tiled; SEDIN in Niger State, Past and Future held in Minna, assuring of continuous support and falicitate investment promotion.
Wauschuhn disclosed that the German organization had achieved numerous number of prospects in Niger state aimed at improving the leaving condition of the people in the aspect of health, economy, employment, agriculture and security among others.
He gave overview of SEDIN III Programme implemented 2020-2023 and enumerated that of the 2023 -2026 expectations that include; access to finance for MSMEs is improved, enabling business development opportunity, improved access to new markets, and development of sustainable infrastructure among others.
Marcus Wauschuhn revealed that over one million various services were offered in the year under review with over 11,000 schools benefited, over 5,000 agric chain programmes and 5,000 women outreach activities, fish farm production and youth engagement strategies, assured of its improved sustainability.
The Niger state governor Mohammed Umar Bago represented by his deputy, Yakubu Garba reiterated the determination of the present administration in given its desire support for the success of all its programmes in the state.
The governor decried that over half of Nigerians are leaving below poverty line hence a deliberate attempt to change the narrative through policies and programmes targeted at reducing the rate of poverty in the state and Nigeria.
He called for patriotism, avoid corruption, righteousness, to embibe maintenance culture hence he assured of more partnership to achieve a New Niger agenda of the governor Mohammed Umar Bago led administration in the state.
