Organized Labour Advises Bago to address Difficulties Associated with Subsidy removal.
The Niger State Governor RT Hon Umar Mohammed Bago have been advised to as a matter of urgency address the difficulties associated with fuel subsidy removal by the federal government in Niger state.
The Vice Chairman Nigeria labour Congress, Niger State council, Comrade Abdullahi Abubakar Erena in an interview with the Nigeria Daily Post correspondent in his office,stated that the Governor should introduce fifty thousand naira as palliative for all workers in the state and immediately approved the minimum pension base on thirty thousand naira [N30,000] National minimum wage in the state and local government area.
He mentioned that the removal of petrol subsidy which have led to the high cost of food stuff and commodities in the State, government should as matter of seriousness suspend PAYEE and immidiately implement outstanding promotion and annual increments for staff at the state and local government areas.
Comrade Abdullahi Erena also appeal to the Governor to pay the outstanding Annual Leave grants for categories of workers that are yet to benefit at the state and local government areas.
He then called on the state governor to constitute a monitoring and enforcement team on price control of essential commodities,adding that hike is deliberate aimed at causing untold hardship on the masses.
He further advised that,the state Governor RT Hon Umar Bago should improve on the state and local government security architecture with special emphasis on encouraging the local vigilantees.
