Niger Gov. Warned Judiciary against granting illegal bail to Culprits, Ordered for Stop and Search of Vehicles in the state.
The Governor of Niger State has given order to the security operatives to stop and search vehicles coming and going out of the State in a bid to curb insecurity.
The Governor, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Umaru Bago gave the order when he paid Sallah homage on the Emir of Minna,Dr. Umar Faruk Bahago in his palace in Minna, in continuation of his Emirate Council’s tour.
He commiserated with the Emir of Minna on the recent robbery attack, assuring him that his administration remains committed to ensuring the security of lives and property of its citizens.
“We are on top of the situation and the perpetrators will be brought to book. We have also given a matching order for stop and search in the Minna metropolis and other parts of the state.
The Governor who maintained that youth restiveness will not be condoned in the state, further warned members of the judiciary to desist from granting illegal bail and pardon to culprits.
Governor Umar Bago also disclosed that schools that have been closed due to insecurity will be reopened and the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) return to their ancestral homes.
He stressed the need for farmers to be more committed to farming, adding that fertilizers will be available for farmers at subsidized rate and the sales will be flagged off on Monday the tenth of this month.
The Emir of Minna,Dr. Umar Faruk Bahago appreciated the governor for his effort so far in ensuring the safety of Niger lites; he however called on the governor to be more deliberate in taking actions that will make the state a safe haven for all.
The Emir assured him of the emirate’s support to the success of the present administration.
The Governor was accompanied by his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, the Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, the Secretary to the State Government, Alh. Abubakar Usman Gawu, Chief of staff, Alh. Abdullahi Usman Gbatamangi, other top government officials and APC chieftains in the state.
