NSCDC NIGER STATE COMMAND DEPLOYES 1,450 PERSONNEL ACROSS THE STATE. FOR CONDUCT OF GENERAL ELECTION.
Niger state Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have deployed 1,450 personnel to Nigeria Police for onward posting across the state to provide security coverage during the forthcoming General elections scheduled to hold on 25th February,2023 and 11th march 2023.
The deployment according to the state Commandant, Comdt Ahmed Mohammed Dandare through the Police is for all security agencies to work as a team to achieve common goal of ensuring hitch free elections, protection of lives and properties and adequate protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.
Dandare while addressing the management staff of the command on Wednesday in his office, warned them to conduct themselves while discharging their legitimate duties.
He cautioned the officers not to intimidate voters at the polling unit and never to handle any election material or assist a voter on how to vote.
He then reiterates the Commands readiness to deal ruthlessly with anybody or group of person caught trying to sabotage the smooth conduct of the election or destroy any INEC material.
The Commandant enjoyed all political, traditional and religion leaders to warn their supporters and followers to conduct themselves while exercising their civic right and stay away from any act capable of breaking law and order.
He however called on the general public to be law abiding and report any suspicious movement capable of disrupting the election, the Command have also setup a quick response team to be stationed at the state and Area Command Headquarters, in case of distress calls
