Buhari appoints Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu as member of HILAC
President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed the Wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu as a member of the High-level Advisory Committee (HILAC).
Dr Zainab Bagudu disclosed this while reacting to her appointment as a member of the High-level Advisory Committee (Hilac) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
“This scale up will not only support financial independence to women across Nigeria, but has positive impact on other sectors like health and education.”
The Founder and Chaiperson of Medicaid Cancer Foundation said the step up by Buhari was a breakthrough for the much needed gender and adolescent inclusion in the society.
She listed the lead Ministries as: Women Affairs, Finance, Education, Budget and National Planning.
Dr Bagudu then Commends the Ministers, adding that she is anciouse to see to the commencement of the programme.
On hilac, the wife of the Kebbi State Governor said the members were drawn from multi-sectors and they are expected to provide support to three programmes.
According to her the programme are as follows National Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE), Adolescent Girls’ Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) and Nigeria For Women Project (NFWP-SU).
“Kebbi State is one of the beneficial pilot state of the NFWP-SU, adding that the programme have been very successful in the state.
She stated that no fewer than 70,000 women have so far benefited from the programme in Nigeria,most especially Women development Project in the state.
Women were each given N60,000 as start up grants to establish their various businesses.
