CSO pass vote of confidence on Plateau Speaker, Rt.Hon.Naanlong Daniel  leadership

The coalition  of Civil  Society  Organizations   (CSOs), Plateau  State Chapter  has passed a vote of confidence  on  Rt. Hon. Na,anlong Daniel Gabyil , Speaker of  the Plateau State House of Assembly  and  APC Candidate for  the   2027 .

The spokesman  for the  coalition  Chairman,Mr  Clement Koptai Secretary: N. Vongs

Secretary Loretta N. said that , we gather as a Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Plateau State to make our position known regarding the leadership, performance, and political journey of the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nanlong Daniel Gabyil.

According to them ,after careful observation of his stewardship, consultations with stakeholders across the state, and an objective assessment of his contributions to democratic governance, we hereby pass a resounding Vote of Confidence on Rt. Hon. Nanlong Daniel Gabyil.

“As Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Gabyil has demonstrated remarkable leadership, maturity, commitment to democratic principles, and respect for the rule of law.

“Under his leadership, the Assembly has continued to function as a stable institution, promoting legislative excellence and strengthening democratic governance in Plateau State.

“We have observed his efforts in fostering harmony among members of the House, ensuring effective legislative oversight, and supporting policies and programs aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Plateau State”,the statement read .

We also commend his accessibility to constituents, youth groups, women organizations, civil society actors, and community leaders. His willingness to engage stakeholders and listen to the concerns of ordinary citizens has distinguished him as a responsive and people-oriented leader.

Furthermore, we congratulate Rt. Hon. Nanlong Daniel Gabyil on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the recently concluded party primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections. His victory reflects the confidence reposed in him by party members and delegates who recognize his leadership capacity, integrity, and dedication to public service.

“As civil society organizations committed to promoting good governance, accountability, peace, and democratic development, we believe that leaders who have demonstrated competence and commitment to the people deserve recognition and support.

“We therefore call on political stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups, women organizations, and citizens of goodwill to continue supporting initiatives that promote peace, unity, and development in Plateau State.

“We equally urge all political actors and supporters to conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly as the state gradually prepares for the 2027 electoral process.

“Democracy thrives where there is respect for differing opinions, adherence to the rule of law, and commitment to peaceful political participation,”the statement added.

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations, Plateau State Chapter, hereby reaffirms its Vote of Confidence in Rt. Hon. Nanlong Daniel Gabyil and encourages him to remain focused on delivering quality leadership and effective representation to the people.
