Governor Umaru Bago Attends the Turbaning of Veronica Ndanusa as Soniyan Ayuka Nupe.
Niger State governor and farmer, Mohammed Umaru Bago, was among many notable personalities who attended the turbaning ceremony of Barrister Mrs. Veronica Safiya Ndanusa as the Soniyan Ayuka Nupe by the Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alh. Yahaya Abubakar.
In a press release, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim Bologi, stated that the event, held at Wadata Palace in Bida, drew hundreds of well-wishers from both within Nigeria and abroad.
Farmer Umaru Bago congratulated her and urged her to use her new title, the Soniyan Ayuka Nupe, to work diligently toward the growth and development of the Nupe kingdom and the entire state.
Etsu Nupe and Chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, noted that Barrister Veronica’s philanthropic efforts, especially her outreach to vulnerable groups in society, inspired the Bida Emirate to honor her with the title of Soniyan Ayuka Nupe. He encouraged others to follow her example as bridge builders.
The Soniyan Ayuka Nupe, Barrister Mrs. Veronica Ndanusa, expressed her gratitude to the Etsu Nupe for deeming her worthy of the turbaning and for the chance to be celebrated across Nigeria.
She described the Etsu Nupe as a remarkable leader who has contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Nupe kingdom and exemplifies traditional leadership.
While thanking Farmer Umaru Bago, she acknowledged his developmental achievements in the state, noting that they have dramatically transformed its landscape.
The Soniyan Ayuka Nupe, Barrister Mrs. Veronica Ndanusa, is the Executive Director and CEO of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex Management Board.
