THREE YEARS IN OFFICE: NIGER WATER MINISTRY COMMENDS GOVERNMENT, DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS ON EFFORTS TO END WATER CHALLENGES
The Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Services has recognized the efforts of the Niger State Government, led by the Farmer Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, in addressing water supply issues across the state over the past three years.
In a statement released by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Akilu Musa Kuta, the Commissioner for Water Resources and Irrigation Services, Engineer Farouk Umaru Audi, praised the state government’s support and commitment to improving the water sector despite ongoing challenges.
The Ministry also acknowledged the contributions and partnerships of development partners, including the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPADEC), for supporting ongoing efforts to improve access to clean, safe water for communities across the state.
According to the statement, the combined efforts of the state government, the Ministry, the federal Ministry of Water Resources, development partners, and intervention agencies have played a vital role in addressing water issues and delivering sustainable solutions to affected communities.
Engineer Farouk Umaru Audi also commended the people of Niger State for their patience, understanding, and support, assuring Nigerlites that the Ministry remains dedicated to continuing efforts to resolve water supply problems and expand access to potable drinking water throughout the state.
