CONTROLLER OF CORRECTIONS, NIGER STATE COMMAND, PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO SECRETARY TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT
The Controller of Corrections for the Niger State command, CC Ogunleye Seyi Oladipupo, paid a courtesy visit to the Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, at his office in Minna on Tuesday, 19th May 2026.
In a press statement, CSC Rabiu Mohammed Shuaibu, CPRO, explained that the visit aimed to strengthen the existing partnership between the Niger State Government and the Nigerian Correctional Service, as well as to brief the SSG on the command’s operations, challenges, and achievements.
The visit also served as a formal introduction following the commander’s assumption of duty in the state.
During the visit, CC Ogunleye expressed gratitude to the State Government for its ongoing support, especially in security cooperation and inmate welfare.
He reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to safe custody, humane treatment, and inmate reform, aligning with its core mandate.
The Controller also requested further collaboration on key issues, including logistical support, rehabilitation programs, and infrastructure development in custodial facilities across Niger State.
In response, the Secretary to the State Government praised the Nigerian Correctional Service for its role in maintaining public safety and aiding inmate rehabilitation.
He assured that the State Government is dedicated to sustaining the partnership and providing support within available resources.
The visit concluded with a mutual commitment to strengthen cooperation between the State Government and the Nigerian Correctional Service in Niger State to promote peace and security.
