The All Progressives Congress has released the list of winners of its National Assembly primary elections conducted across Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections, an outcome that has significantly reshaped the state’s political landscape.
The primaries produced a mix of former governors, serving and former lawmakers, as well as new contenders emerging as candidates for the forthcoming elections.
Among the notable winners is former Plateau State Governor and current Senator, Simon Bako Lalong, who secured the APC ticket for Plateau South Senatorial District.
Also emerging victorious is former PDP National Chairman, Simon Mwadkwon, who clinched the Plateau North Senatorial ticket under the APC platform.
Businessman David Bitrus Barji won the Plateau Central Senatorial primary.
In the House of Representatives contests, Yusuf Adamu Gagdi secured the APC ticket for the Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, while Ishaya David Lalu emerged candidate for Mangu/Bokkos.
Other winners include former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara-aligned candidate in Wase, and Beni Lar who retained the ticket for Langtang North/Langtang South Federal Constituency.
Dachung Musa Bagos also emerged winner for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, alongside other successful aspirants across Riyom/Barkin Ladi, Qua’an Pan/Mikang/Shendam, and Jos North/Bassa constituencies.
Chairman of the Plateau APC Primaries Electoral Committee, Stella Okotete, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent, and credible, commending party members and stakeholders for maintaining order throughout the process.
