Farmer Governor Bago Bids Farewell to Niger State’s First Batch Traveling to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj
Niger State Governor Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago has bid farewell to the first group of pilgrims heading to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj.
In a statement from his spokesperson, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor addressed the 345 intending pilgrims, including 227 men and 118 women, from the Chanchaga and Borgu local government areas.
He urged the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the state during their journey.
The governor also advised them not to accept items from strangers and to safeguard their belongings.
He emphasized the importance of staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water.
He encouraged them to pray for themselves, for peace in Nigeria and Niger State, for their families while in the Holy Land, and wished them a safe and successful Hajj.
The 2026 Niger State Amirul Hajj and Emir of Agaie, Alh. Yusuf Nuh, described the preparations for the Hajj as satisfactory.
He instructed the pilgrims to follow Saudi Arabia’s laws during their stay.
Some pilgrims, during interviews, praised the Hajj officials for their thorough preparations and said they would pray to Allah for an end to insecurity in Nigeria and parts of Niger State.
Niger State has a total of 2,281 intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, which will be flown in six flights ending on Sunday.
