Bago Engages Consultants to Assess Water Facilities in Minna

In an effort to ensure all Nigerlites have access to clean, safe drinking water across the state, Farmer Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has hired consultants to evaluate water facilities in Minna metropolis as part of efforts to improve water supply and strengthen infrastructure.
The assessment was conducted under the supervision of the Niger State Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation Services, led by Commissioner Engineer Farouk Umaru Audi, who guided the consultants during an inspection tour of some key water facilities in Minna.
During the visit, the commissioner explained that this initiative aligns with the administration’s commitment to revitalizing the state’s water sector.
He stated that the assessment will help determine the current condition of the facilities, identify operational challenges, and suggest practical solutions to enhance the water supply.
Engineer Audi noted that the mission and vision of Governor Bago, popularly known as the “Farmer Governor,” is to ensure every resident in the state has access to clean, safe drinking water. He added that hiring consultants demonstrates the government’s seriousness about addressing water shortages affecting some communities.
He further explained that the consultants are expected to conduct a thorough evaluation of the facilities—including treatment plants, reservoirs, and distribution networks—to provide professional recommendations for government action.
The commissioner assured residents that the state government remains committed to improving water infrastructure across Niger State, emphasizing that the assessment is a crucial step toward achieving a sustainable, reliable water supply for the people.
