Chief of Army Staff Visits Niger State Governor to Strengthen Security Collaboration.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, paid a courtesy visit to Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago in government House Minna.
He was received at the Council Chamber of Government House Minna by the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, representing the governor.
During the visit, the COAS explained that his purpose was to inaugurate the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Conference for the year, intended to unify and enhance training and doctrinal activities.
He also announced plans to conduct operational visits to Headquarters 31 Artillery Brigade and 18 Brigade in Bida, aimed at identifying and addressing operational gaps.
The COAS assured that additional resources for training and doctrinal development would be allocated to the Nigerian Army’s TRADOC to counteract insecurity challenges facing the state.
He expressed gratitude to the Niger State government for ongoing support to the Nigerian Army and other military formations within the state, emphasizing a desire for increased cooperation.
In response, the farmer governor appreciated the COAS’s visit and reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate effectively with the Army and security agencies, especially amidst rising insecurity.
He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and National Security Adviser Mall Nuhu Ribadu for their dedication to enhancing national security, including that of Niger State.
