As the on going screening of Commissioner nominees continued at the Niger state House of assembly on Wednesday, featured an egalitarian young dynamic,philanthropist an excellent young man,Hon Jacob Baba Yisa.
Jacob Baba Yisa, who hails from Edati local government area from the farmily of late father, a very humble and tolerant man,Mr Moses kolo.Yisa, who retired as Auditor general of local government, left the wife Mrs Rachel Yisa and three children,two girls and a boy, Princes Rachel,also a seasoned civil servant now retired from the rank of the permanent secretary.
Indeed Princes Rachel has not left any one in doubt being alone after the demise of the husband carried her Cross and inculcate in the children,descipline with high sense of respect as required of a Nupe tradition despite her involvement in religion as a gospel singer.
Jacob Baba Yisa, who is a graduate of Agricultural Economics from the federal University of Technology,FUT, obtained his Masters from the Nasarawa state University on Environmental resource management, where he is pursuing his PHD in view, also on Environmental resource management.
Before now he has served in many capacities and has successfully distinguish himself under the immediate past government and recently was a Chairmanship candidate of Edati local government area.
Governor Umaru Bago, while searching for a vibrant youth that will measure up to his New Niger Agenda decided to pick Jacob Baba Yisa, who has been tested and trusted,a round peg in a round hole to be one of the Commissioner nominees.
At the floor of the state House of assembly,the member representing Chanchaga constituency,Hon Mohammed Abubakar,moved a motion anxiously asking the members in the Chamber to allow the young Commissioner nominee, Hon Jacob Baba Yisa, to take a bowl owing to his attecidents in the political circle particularly in the ruling party APC.
While supporting the motion the member representing Edati local government area,Hon Ahmed Mohamed Rokota, described the commissioner nominee as a youth bulldozer,” even though I was still in PDP then,”iam aware that during the campaign he contributed immensely to the success of the ruling party APC”
He said the governor has not make a mistake to bring people like him on board to showcase their wealth of experience to actualise the New Niger Agenda of the present administration.
In a chat with News men shortly after his screening at assembly complex, the Commissioner nominee,Mr Jacob Baba Yisa, appreciated governor Umar Bago for choosing him to be involved in his administration’s drive for New Niger agenda.
“I urged the people of Edati local government to give me their cooperation to ensure the success of this administration,i promised to do my best to carry you along devoid of any differences”Jacob reiterated.
