FCT Police Arrest Three Wanted Kidnappers.

By Our Correspondent

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command have arrested three wanted kidnappers and bandits following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

The suspects are Abdulkadir Abubakar from Mpape, Abuja; 25-year-old Mohammed Tasiu Sani from Rigina, Kaduna State; and 27-year-old Suleiman Jibrin from Sabon-Gayan, Kaduna State.

According to the police, they were apprehended on Sunday, June 29, 2025, during an operation that took place in Wukushi, Mpape, and Rigina, Kaduna State.

In a statement released on Tuesday by Josephine Adeh, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, it was disclosed that the arrested suspects operated notorious kidnapping camps within the Kachia and Rigina forests in Kaduna State. These camps are known to have served as detention sites for kidnap victims and have been linked to multiple abduction cases across Jere, Kajuru, and parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

Adeh stated, “In our continued effort to rid the Federal Capital Territory and its surroundings of all forms of criminality, the operatives of the Command, acting on the strategic directive of the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Ajao Adewale, achieved a significant breakthrough with the arrest of these three notorious kidnappers and bandits.

“The arrests occurred on June 29, 2025, following actionable intelligence and a well-coordinated operation led by ACP Victor O. Godfrey. This operation spanned Wukushi, Mpape in the FCT, and Rigina, Kaduna State, resulting in the capture of Abdulkadir Abubakar from Mpape, FCT, Mohammed Tasiu Sani, 25, from Rigina, Kaduna State, and Suleiman Jibrin, 27, from Sabon-Gayan, Kaduna State.

“The suspects were known for operating deadly camps within the forests of Kachia and Rigina in Kaduna State, where victims were held for extended periods. They have been linked to several kidnapping incidents across Jere, Kajuru, and parts of the Federal Capital Territory.”

Adeh added that an operational motorcycle, commonly referred to as a “Boko Haram motorcycle,” was recovered during the operation, and efforts are underway to obtain more weapons and apprehend other fleeing accomplices.

The suspects are currently in custody and are assisting the police with further investigations to dismantle their criminal network. Their arrest marks a significant step toward restoring peace and security across the territory.
