Tragic 30 yrs Man Kills His Mother in Jigawa State Community Calls for Justice.
A deeply distressing incident has shocked the Dantanoma quarters of Gumel Local Government Area in Jigawa State. A 30-year-old man, Hussaini Abubakar, has been accused of murdering his 75-year-old mother, Dahara Mu’azu.
The brutal act occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025, around 8:00 PM, prompting immediate intervention from law enforcement.
According to a statement from SP Shi’isu Adam, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Jigawa State Command, police received reports of a violent altercation involving the mother and son.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the victim suffering from severe head injuries after being attacked with mud blocks. Although she was rushed to Gumel General Hospital for emergency treatment, medical personnel confirmed her death on June 30, 2025.
The suspect, Abubakar, has been apprehended and is currently cooperating with investigators. Authorities have indicated that he will face charges following a thorough investigation.
Commissioner of Police Ahmad Abdullahi condemned the act, describing it as inhumane and barbaric. He has assigned the Deputy Commissioner of Police from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to ensure a comprehensive inquiry.
