Governor Umar Bago Donates N50M to ICAN for students Special Center.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has donated N50 million to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) to support the establishment of a Special Students’ Centre in Minna.
The donation was made during a courtesy visit from a delegation of ICAN executives at the Government House in Minna.Â
Governor Bago congratulated the newly elected members of ICAN and expressed gratitude for the decision to zone the presidential position of the Institute to the North Central region after 60 years.Â
He praised the election of Dr. Haruna Nma Yahaya, citing his capability to effectively manage the Institute’s affairs. The Governor assured ICAN of his continued support.
He also pledged to assist ICAN members from Niger State and confirmed his attendance at the ICAN Conference scheduled for October in Abuja.
Dr. Haruna Nma Yahaya, the President of ICAN, expressed pride in Governor Bago for his developmental achievements in the state.Â
He shared that the ICAN Special Students’ Centre, which will be named in honor of Governor Bago, aims to inspire aspiring accountants from the North Central zone and engage youth from Niger State in the accountancy profession.
Dr. Yahaya acknowledged the Governor’s foresight in appointing ICAN members to various government positions.Â
He assured Governor Bago of their continued support and highlighted that Niger State’s current ranking as third in ICAN’s Accountability Index reflects the level of transparency within his administration.
