Dismissed Soldier Arrested for Impersonation,Fraud, theft by Trick

The Niger State Police Command is intensifying efforts to combat crime in the state. They have arrested a man who posed as a soldier and defrauded a point-of-sale (POS) shop operator in Bida, deceitfully collecting ₦120,000 and then escaping.
According to a police bulletin signed by SP W.A. Abiodun, PPRO of the Niger State Command, this suspect also dressed in military camouflage to carry out a similar scam in which he swindled a POS attendant in Kataeregi out of ₦300,000.
Additionally, on May 29, 2025, at around 4 PM, he again tricked another victim at a POS location along Mandela Road, taking ₦50,000.
Through technical intelligence, police detectives arrested Michael Musa of Mandela Road in Minna in connection with these crimes.
During interrogation, Musa, who was wearing military attire at the time of his arrest, confessed to the incidents and claimed to be a soldier who had been dismissed in 2022 in Benin, Edo State.
The investigation is ongoing, and more victims are coming forward to file similar complaints.
