Chaos Erupts as Jigawa Delegates Disrupt Atiku,Obi Coalition Meeting

A high-level coalition meeting involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party leader Peter Obi, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, and others descended into chaos due to disruptions caused by delegates from Jigawa State.
The ongoing coalition meeting, held at the Abuja Continental Hotel and organized by the National Political Consultative Group (North), faced interruptions following a disagreement regarding representation for Jigawa State.
Tensions escalated when former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, announced a delegate to speak on behalf of the state. In protest, several Jigawa delegates stormed the stage, blocking the designated speaker and insisting that they would not be represented by those named.
As the confrontation intensified, security personnel—including members of the Nigerian Police, Department of State Services (DSS), and private guards—quickly formed a protective barrier around key figures such as Atiku and Amaechi.
Calm was restored after several minutes of appeals when Mustapha Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, along with another delegate, was selected to speak on behalf of the state.
